IMG_8724I made this latte a few months ago when I started getting into my collagen experiment. The collagen has made my nails stronger than ever. I now have to file them twice a week! There will be a blog on collagen soon! However, I went on this retreat this past weekend to Palm Springs, California. I was the chef for the weekend and was rewarded with the opportunity to cook the food for all the participants. Angie, one of the co-leaders, was very enthused with the idea of making her turmeric tonic. I kept laughing because turmeric is the one word I always say and spell incorrectly. It always comes out “tumeric” and I forget that first “R.”

I got home on Monday and it reminded me that I had this turmeric latte recipe I had not posted. Lattes are a lovely treat to add to your morning routine. You can drink them in place of your coffee. Add some adaptogens to amp up your latte and decrease stress levels. This one is great great for inflammation due to the turmeric.

Serves: 1

Hands-on time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Gluten free, soy free

Ingredients

1 Tbsp ghee

1 tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp cinnamon

2 scoops Vital Proteins collagen peptides

14 oz. hot (not boiling) water

¼ tsp of Moon Juice adaptogens *optional*

Dusting of freshly cracked pepper

Directions

  1. Heat water to just before a boil. Or boil and let cool down. You don’t want to put boiling water in a mixer. It might burn you.
  2. Place all ingredients in a Vitamix or some type of blender. Blend it for about two minutes until it looks frothy.
  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Enjoy!
