My name is Claire Ridge and I am a Chicago-based yoga instructor and certified health coach. I graduated with a degree in journalism from The University of Missouri and now I write a lifestyle blog with recipes, yoga information, and healthy living. I received my 200-hour RYT through Yoga Sol in Columbia, Missouri in 2014. I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in January, 2017. I am extremely passionate about the mind-body connection and how food can be used as healing nourishment for the body.
I was born with a cystic hygroma on the left side of my neck. Surgery at the age of six weeks and two years to remove this cyst left me struggling to find balance between the left and right sides of my body. In 2009, I began to faint and suffer from migraines. With the help of an integrative doctor, I took my health into my own hands and began to heal my body. Yoga and meditation kept my muscles and mind relaxed and helped me tune into the imbalances in my body. Food became a healing modality as I realized what I was putting into my body could really impact my health. This changed my life so drastically that I wanted to bring this healing to others. I love to express my creativity through my cooking and my clothing. You can often find me wearing funky pants and shirts with groovy pockets while I whip up my latest recipe.
