Bunless Burger Bowl
How on earth can you put a burger in a bowl? What about the bun? Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the new creation: a burger bowl! My friend, Katarina gave me this inspiration during one of our coworking sessions! This one is a perfect dish for all you gluten free goers! If you’ve been following my blog, you’re aware that I enjoy a bowl here and there. Check out my 4th of July smoothie bowl recipe or this vegan buddha bowl. This one makes a nice next-day-lunch, even cold!
Serves: 4
Hands-on time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Gluten free
Ingredients
1 lb. grass-fed organic ground beef
20 cherry tomatoes, diced
1 red onion, diced
2 avocados
4 cups arugula
1 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese (I like the J2K Capraio chevré from the Lincoln Park farmer’s market)
Directions
- Heat the grill to high.
- Create 4 quarter-pound burgers and throw on the grill for about 3 minutes on each side.
- Assemble about ½ cup of arugula at the base of each bowl.
- Place the grilled burger, cherry tomatoes, and avocado on the bowl. Top the burger with feta cheese crumbles.
- You can add a balsamic, olive oil dressing or try my red pepper dressing!
- Enjoy!
