Cacao date almond butter energy bitesDo you have trouble finding snacks you can grab on the go throughout a busy week? One of my clients mentioned that he is always in a rush throughout the day and when he gets home for dinner, he indulges in large meals. He said it would be helpful to have some ideas for easy snacks he could eat throughout the day! These cacao, almond butter energy bites are just the trick. If you’re a chocolate lover, this is the snack for you! Cacao has many energy-boosting nutrients so this is perfect for a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack!

Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free


Ingredients

15 medjool dates

¼ cup almonds

½ cup almond butter or any other nut butter

2 tbsp cacao powder, unsweetened

1 small dash of salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1 Tbsp flax seeds

1 tsp maca powder *optional*

1 Tbsp water *optional*

½ tsp Moon Juice Adaptogens (What are adaptogens?) *optional*


Directions

  1. Put dates, nuts, nut butter, cacao powder, salt, vanilla, chia seeds, flax seeds, and maca powder in a food processor and mix.
  2. Add water if the date mixture is too thick.
  3. Roll into 1-inch size balls and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  4. Enjoy!
