Preserve your Herbs
My aunt is filled with tricks in the kitchen. I just love going to her house because I always learn something new! Do your herbs ever get soggy a few days after you bring them home from the store? That slimy bag with brown herbs does not sound too appetizing to me.
Well, here is a solution I learned from her: the jar! If you fill up a mason jar with water and put the cut herbs in the jar, they will keep in your refrigerator longer than in the bag. Whenever I cook with herbs, I don’t necessarily use the entire handful for one recipe. This gives you the opportunity to use the herbs in multiple dishes before they make it to the trash. Try it out with your next herb purchase.
